Messy Monets was dreamed up in early 2025 and first opened for art camp registration in May 2025. Monet comes from the famous artist, Claude Monet, and messy, well, that is the name of the game when you are creating art with kids. Our mission is to create a fun, inviting, family space that is centered around kids expressing themselves through process art and sensory exploration.

Messy Monets is an art studio for kids located in Marshfield, WI! We focus on process art, sensory play, and STEAM crafting in our classes to help your child engage in a creative way with the world around them.

We are located in the historic, Chestnut Center for the Arts building. Find us in the West Wing, Room D of 208 S. Chestnut Ave. in Marshfield!

For our Mini Monets and Monthly Minis, yes, a trusted adult, whether that be parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or family friend, must accompany your toddler or preschooler and supervise them throughout the class time.
Club Messy kids do not need their parents to stay, but they are welcome to wait in the hallway during class if they chose to wait for their child.

It’s in the name–at Messy Monets, we do get messy! We suggest an outfit that can (and likely will) get stained as we use paint, ink, markers, chalk, glue, and more. We provide aprons for the children to wear while they work, and parents who participate in class are welcome to bring their own apron if they chose.

If their is a cancellation due to weather, emergency, or illness at Messy Monets, we will do our best to reschedule to complete the class session.
If something happens before the start of a session and your child is no longer able to attend the session, please let us know right away. Refunds will be given up to seven days before the start of a new session.
If for some reason the class isn’t a good fit for your child or there is an issue preventing your child from completing the session, please reach out to Ms. Bobbie. All refunds are at the discretion of Messy Monets and are given on a case-by-case basis.
At Messy Monets the safety of all of our participants is our number one priority. If for some reason your child’s behavior becomes a threat to the safety of other participants, your child will be asked to leave class early. If the behavior is severe or the problem continues, your child will be asked not to return and the remainder of the session fees will be forfeited.

You might know that Claude Monet is famous for his waterlily paintings, but did you know that he is considered the father of Impressionism and in his painting career he created over 2,500 pieces. He even founded his own garden, Giverny, to better study the effects of light and the changing seasons on, you guessed it, waterlilies!
Hey there!
I’m Bobbie, a mom of three, wife, and the artist behind this creative space. Born and raised right here in Marshfield, I grew up knowing I wanted to be an artist–first a cartoonist and later a fashion designer, but always an artist. So low and behold I landed at UWEC to study Art and Design, with an emphasis in drawing. Life had different plans though. With a zig and a zag, I ended up with a Digital Marketing degree from UW-Stout. After working in marketing for a while I was given the amazing opportunity to quit my job and spend every day with my kiddos as a stay at home mom–teaching them, caring for them, and creating with them.
My husband and I moved back to Marshfield a few years ago to raise our family here, and when I’m not navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood, you can usually find me snuggling my dog, digging in my garden, or embarking on little adventures with my family.
Some of my favorite art and conversation happens during impromptu drawing sessions at the kitchen table with my kids, just watching their imaginations run wild, but most of my personal art is now based in photography. Also in the summers you might find me getting down and dusty at Eau Claire’s Chalkfest – there’s just something so freeing about those huge, colorful, temporary masterpieces!
But back to Messy Monets and why you are here! Recently, while reflecting on my motherhood journey I suddenly knew what I really wanted to be when I grew up. It was what I had always wanted to be when I grew up–an artist! But not just an artist! I wanted to share my passion for art with tiny minds and watch them fully embrace all the fun and creativity that is art, just like I have gotten to do with my own kids.
Seeing a need for more kid spaces in our town, I’m thrilled to share this studio where we can all dive into the messy goodness of art. I’m so excited to create a space filled with giggles and sensory exploration for our kiddos (and maybe a little creative therapy for us parents too)! So come on in, let’s get wonderfully messy together!
Ms. Bobbie
